How GTA 6 Could Make Some Players Millionaires

One of the most anticipated video games of 2026 is "Grand Theft Auto 6," the latest installment in Rockstar Games' blockbuster franchise. The game has endured numerous delays since being formally announced in December 2023 amidst widespread rumors of its existence. With the game currently on track for a November 2026 launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, more details about the title are beginning to emerge. However, the latest rumor surrounding "Grand Theft Auto 6" suggests intrepid players might be able to monetize its features for themselves.

In an interview with PC Gamer, video game influencer HipHopGamer claimed to have some inside knowledge about "Grand Theft Auto 6." Among the most tantalizing details hinted at was the possibility of players being able to monetize user-generated content in the game. "This game will produce millionaires. We're living in a time where UGC is a major thing," the influencer shared. "It's wise and it's worth the wait." It's unclear how valid these claims are and, at the time of this writing, Rockstar Games hasn't officially commented on any online features for "Grand Theft Auto 6."

That said, HipHopGamer's comments do allude to where Rockstar could be taking the "GTA 6" experience.

How GTA 6 could potentially monetize user-generated content

"Grand Theft Auto Online" has helped maintain the franchise's legacy in the 13 years since "Grand Theft Auto 5" was released, still regularly boasting over 100,000 concurrent users daily. With that in mind, Rockstar could be doubling down on the online features within "Grand Theft Auto 6," which will presumably revamp "GTA Online" with its own similar experience. Successful online games like "Fortnite" might already be influencing "Grand Theft Auto 6," but the title that most aligns with HipHopGamer's claims is "Roblox." "Roblox" serves as an online platform for game creation, monetizing content to its creators regularly as part of its business model.

The online modes within "GTA 6" could boast its own user-generated marketplace, providing revenue for both Rockstar and content creators. This means users could ostensibly create music or video content within the confines of "GTA 6" and receive a sizable payout depending on its popularity. Musical artists already want to bring virtual concerts to "GTA Online," and the new game could provide a forum for that. "GTA 6" could also be monetized with features like rudimentary game and art creation.

Of course, this is all conjecture until proven true. Still, as if players needed another reason to pick up "Grand Theft Auto 6," making a career out of it could provide an extra lucrative incentive.
