GTA 6: Everything We Know About Lucia Caminos (So Far)
Netflix's "Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look" offers fans of the game series many important insights, from gameplay changes and improvements to fun little looks into the world of Leonida. It's certainly starting to seem that Rockstar is delivering on years of hype with "GTA 6." However, perhaps the most important thing the extended look gives us is an opportunity to get to know the two main characters we're going to spend countless hours playing as.
While Jason Duval seems like a perfectly capable GTA protagonist, it's Lucia Caminos who really captures the attention. The extended look shows plenty of her personality and ability on the field. We see that she's a great driver, and can handle herself in a fight even against an opponent far larger than her (with a little help from her stiletto heels).
Lucia's Bonnie and Clyde-style relationship with Jason is an interesting dynamic, and it's immediately clear that Lucia is no wallflower. In fact, what we see of their banter makes it seem that she's the more situationally aware and inquisitive of the two.
Lucia seems destined to be one of the best GTA protagonists
All of this combines smoothly with what we know of Lucia based on the information Rockstar Games has released so far. Originally from Liberty City, she's a fighter who was trained by her own father from a young age. This put her on a road that sent her to prison — and taught her to think before acting. Now, Lucia is free and looking for a comfortable life, and she's willing to get her hands dirty to reach her goal.
In other words, Lucia is driven by ambition and ready to do battle when necessary, but she has the brains to choose her fights whenever possible. This seems to put her in the time-tested "solid but ambitious operators with their head screwed on the right way" category of Grand Theft Auto protagonists. We already know that she has a strong backstory, and the Netflix extended look proves that her portrayal and personality are on point. If the game can also provide her with a powerful story arc, the first non-selectable female GTA protagonist seems set to join the ranks of the best GTA characters of all time.
