GTA 6 Soundtrack Album Officially Announced: First Artists And Songs Confirmed

The original "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City" started a tradition of "GTA" games having amazing soundtracks, with people as excited to learn what songs would be in the next game as almost any other information about it. Up to this point, we have heard only teases for the soundtrack for "Grand Theft Auto 6," from the music in the first two trailers to the songs we heard in the extended look. But that has been the extent of any sort of official confirmation of the contents of the "GTA 6" soundtrack ... until now.

On September 17, the website for pre-ordering the official "GTA 6" soundtrack went live. Available on both CD and vinyl, the soundtrack promises 34 songs with a "genre-defying roster of the most exciting artists in the world." We already knew nine artists who were going to be on the soundtrack as they revealed themselves the day before. Keith Richards, Travis Scott, PinkPantheress, Ca7riel & Paco Amoroso, Future, Morgan Wallen, Rauw Alejandro, Yung Lean, and Metro Boomin all shared what were unmistakably "GTA 6" art assets to their social media accounts on September 16.

That being said, we now know six of the actual songs that will be on the soundtrack from across those nine artists:

• Yung Lean – That's It (feat. Future & Metro Boomin)
• Travis Scott – RHYNO (prod. by Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo)
• CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso, PinkPantheress, Fred again.., & Etienne de Crécy – Sexy Magic
• Morgan Wallen – Last Thing You Need
• Rauw Alejandro – Macacoa 2000
• Keith Richards – Bright Lights, Big City

The artists that have posted "GTA 6" images to social media started doing so just days after Stephen Root revealed himself to be the first voice actor confirmed for the game. It is highly unlikely that Root spilling the beans that he is, in fact, playing Brian Heder in "GTA 6" happening so close to the first batch of soundtrack artists reveals is a coincidence. If we were to guess, we'd say that this marks the beginning of what is sure to be a slow but steady official rollout of reveals over the coming weeks. We'll get to see more actors and musicians either confirm their "GTA 6" involvement directly or Rockstar will do themselves in some way.

We don't expect that the full cast, nor the entire track listing for the soundtrack, will be revealed prior to the release of "GTA 6." Rockstar does like to keep some things a surprise — and to keep players guessing at hidden reveals, which is always good for hype building. Still, the news from the last few days probably isn't the end of the pre-release "GTA 6" goodies, and as more come in between now and launch day, we'll pass them along to you the moment we learn them ourselves.
