Dr Disrespect Doubles Down After Swift Backlash

Dr Disrespect is no stranger to controversy, and his recent comments regarding mobile gaming have landed him in hot water with a large section of the gaming community. The Doc had previously apologized to PUBG pro player Sc0ut for making fun of mobile gaming. Now, however, Dr Disrespect has seemingly decided to completely double down on his opinions regarding mobile games.

The whole issue began when the Doc tweeted a comparison between his PC rig and a mobile gamer's usual set-up. He wrote, "I've got 3 state-of-the-art 1ms speed color calibrated monitors staring at me, a keyboard with titan switch optical keystrokes and a mouse that weighs literally nothing backed by a 200k multi pc setup {...] and you have the guts to tell me mobile gaming is a serious thing?"

This immediately frustrated many of the Doc's followers on social media, including fellow high profile gamers. Call of Duty Mobile pro player iFerg challenged the Doc to 1v1 game with $100,000 on the line. To make things fair, iFerg even offered to let Dr Disrespect play on his PC while iFerg used a mobile device. The Doc didn't take the bait, however.

The Doc poked fun at the controversy by beginning a recent stream with a skit involving mobile gaming. Dr Disrespect could be seen furiously playing something on a little flip phone, shouting, "Oh, I would have killed you if I had a better connection. That's bulls**t." At that moment, the Doc seemed to realize that the camera is on him and the audience could see what he was doing. He closed the phone awkwardly and asked, "How long have we been live?"

While streaming with ZLaner, Dr Disrespect brought up the controversy surrounding his comments on mobile gaming, as well as "the heat" he has been receiving on Twitter. ZLaner asked what the comments were exactly, and if the Doc had made mobile gaming out to be a joke.

The Doc eventually reiterated his earlier point, saying, "Again, I just explained what my setup was ... And then with all that said, do I — do I take someone playing on a phone seriously? I mean, that's all. It was just a question, you know."

Despite this being "just a question" from Dr Disrespect, the streamer peppered several jokes throughout his stream that poked fun at mobile gaming. It seems like the Doc isn't going to back down from this particular opinion anytime soon.
