The Fortnite Easter Egg Star Wars Fans Shouldn't Miss

Fortnite just concluded its Marvel-themed Chapter 2 Season 4 this week with a major showdown between players and Galactus, Devourer of Worlds. The event — which was so big it caused Twitch to go down temporarily — left fans on a cliffhanger as Galactus was defeated, but the Zero Point he tried to consume exposed a huge crater in the map. Now, Fortnite players are a few days into Season 5, which is chock-full of Star Wars Easter eggs.

Fans have noticed a Star Wars Easter egg where Fortnite's Peely was encased in carbonite, just as Han Solo was in The Empire Strikes Back. Reddit user Urboijeff shared a screenshot of the carbonite, which could be found in one of the rooms inside the new Hunter's Haven house. The image showed Peely stuck facing ahead in the large block leaning against a wall.

Fortnite Season 5, entitled "Zero Point" after the Galactus attack, does not explicitly have a Star Wars theme, but rather a bounty hunter theme, with nods to several different hunters in pop culture. According to Epic Games' description of the season, Agent Jonesy will bring in several bounty hunters from "across realities" to take control of the "unstable new reality" created by the Zero Point. One such bounty hunter happens to be The Mandalorian of Star Wars fame.

With the purchase of the Fortnite Season 5 Battle Pass, players immediately unlock skins that represent Agent Jonesy's crew. Characters include Menace the gladiator, a sentient stack of bandito pancakes named Mancake, and The Mandalorian. As The Verge reported, The Mandalorian's titular character looks a bit rough until Fortnite players complete quests to unlock new Beskar armor, which can take some time. Baby Yoda also becomes available as an accessory when players max out the season's pass.

Epic Games has already teased that it will bring bounty hunters from other realms into Season 5. In fact, on Dec. 3, a tweet from the PlayStation Twitter account hinted that God of War's Kratos is on his way to Fortnite. The tweet featured an audio leak of Agent Jonesy discussing the next hunter to join the team, noting that this person "literally vanquished multiple gods ... with his bare hands ... in a fit of uncontrollable rage." That description pretty much fits the bill for Kratos. Shortly afterwards, Epic Games confirmed that Kratos would be joining the fun.

Players will have to continue taking care of bounties to eventually unlock the coveted Baby Yoda, and keep their eyes peeled for more Easter eggs.
