This Cyberpunk 2077 Perk Has Some Awful Consequences

There is no doubt that you have read all about the bugs and glitches in Cyberpunk 2077. From things as simple as private parts clipping through clothing, to more game-breaking situations like corrupted save files, there's no shortage of issues. Now there is a glitch that answers the age old question: Why did the Cyberpunk 2077 character cross the road?

The answer: Apparently to get run over by a vehicle and instantly killed. In a clip posted to the game's subreddit, a player walks out into traffic and gets run over by a vehicle, causing a little damage, but nothing fatal. Afterwards, the player enters the game's Body Perks menu and equips "The Rock," which is a passive trait that prevents enemies from knocking you down. The player then runs back into the street and makes sure to get run over by the same vehicle as before, which turns out to be an instakill, doing 385 points worth of damage.

Despite the obvious shortcoming, "The Rock" perk can be quite useful. Missions in the game while involve melee combat can be made substantially more manageable with the use of the perk.

While that sounds great, getting instantly killed by a motor vehicle does raise questions and present problems. A reason why the glitch may happen is because the player can't get knocked down, which means the character doesn't react to the car collision, instead allowing the car to pass through and causing the "Game Over" screen. This means that once you unlock the perk to use for its main purpose, you must remember to un-equip it when exploring the open world — or if you feel the need to play in traffic.

You can just add this to the growing list of concerns surrounding Cyberpunk 2077 since its launch back in December. While it may not be as unsettling as the appearance of some of the game's children, it is something that a future patch can hopefully fix. While "Hotfix 1.06" was released right before Christmas, CD Projekt Red has announced that substantial patches are coming to the game this month and next, which hopefully address situations such as this one.

Until then, while playing Cyberpunk 2077, make sure to take a look around and see all the things the game has to offer. Just make sure to look both ways before crossing the street, the life you save could be your own.
