WarioWare: Get It Together - What We Know So Far
E3 2021 came and went. There were exciting announcements, disappointing gaming presentations, and everything in between. Nintendo fans received their fair share of thrilling reveals, including a "Breath of the Wild" sequel preview and "Metroid Dread" release date, trailer, and gameplay footage. With such tremendous titles dominating the presentation, it can be easy to miss some other promising games. One such example stars a Nintendo character that doesn't get as much attention as his famous plumber colleague.
Many gamers are probably wondering what Wario has been up to lately. Aside from supporting roles in party games like "Mario Golf: Super Rush," he's been pretty quiet for a while. He hasn't hasn't starred in an adventure of his own since "Wario Land: Shake It!" back in 2008, and even the "WarioWare" series has yet to make an appearance on the Nintendo Switch.
The good news is that this will be changing with the arrival of "WarioWare: Get It Together!" Now the question remaining is, when can you snag a copy of this game yourself? The answer to that, along with other questions you may have, awaits.
When will WarioWare 'Get It Together?'
Knowing Wario, there's a good chance he's been sitting around, enjoying the passive income he receives from his microgames. Fortunately, his greed outweighs his laziness, meaning he'll always be motivated to get off the couch in his never-ending quest for more money. With that said, he'll be back to work at his company and coming to a Switch near you in "WarioWare: Get It Together!" on September 10, 2021.
The news was shared on Twitter, and it's clear that fans have long awaited a new console "WarioWare" game. One user wrote, "I've been looking forward to a Switch #WarioWare release since the system was announced." Another said, "First WarioWare on consoles since Smooth Moves, (game & Wario doesn't count)."
Not only have fans been waiting for new "Wario" games for a while, but they've been eager to see him make his Switch debut since the very beginning. Perhaps after "WarioWare: Get It Together!" comes out, he'll have another opportunity in the near future to face off against his true nemesis in a new platforming adventure. Only time will tell.
What about a trailer for WarioWare: Get It Together?
As a matter of fact, there is a trailer for "WarioWare: Get It Together!" If you enjoy Wario's winning personality, you're in for a treat because there's more full-sentence narration from Nintendo's champion glutton, just like in "WarioWare Gold."
Wario knows it's been a while and asks viewers, "Did you miss me?" as the camera quickly pans over to his studio. From there, he proudly unveils the new game from his company, where viewers see a montage of various microgames that are packed into the collection. After that, his entire staff appears, which has grown quite a bit in size since the early days. The trailer shows them in action as more microgames are presented. Of course, what would a trailer for a new "Wario" game be without a quick nose pick?
As Wario winds down the presentation, he addresses the audience in a direct call to action, encouraging viewers to buy his game, as he is wont to do.
What will it be like playing WarioWare: Get It Together?
There are a few key details to glean from the trailer. Naturally, you can expect the same microgame madness from "WarioWare: Get It Together!" that you've enjoyed from other entries in the series, along with some added enhancements. Apparently different characters have different abilities, allowing you to approach a single microgame several ways, which ought to add even more replay value. And when you're sick of playing by yourself, you can join a friend in some two-player insanity.
During the Treehouse: Live presentation, one of the hosts explained that what makes these games great is the "surprise factor," so they were careful not to divulge too much. What they did reveal is that there's a story mode divided into segments, much like past "WarioWare" titles. After picking a stage, you choose three characters and begin your microgame marathon. As is par for the course, the character from your selection of three is randomly chosen at the start of every game.
You enjoy a wide variety in "WarioWare: Get It Together!'s" visual renderings, along with the typical quirky humor you've grown to expect. And at the end of a round, you'll face a boss.
All in all, it's more of what you love with groundbreaking new features added in.
