Amouranth Has Already Conquered Twitch's Newest Category
Amouranth has once again proved herself to be the queen of streaming. Twitch recently unveiled a new category for the platform, "Animals, Aquariums, and Zoos," but users quickly noticed the top streamer was already none other than Amouranth. Though the category is still fresh, a clip of Amouranth is sitting comfortably in the lead, bring in over 8,000 viewers. The next runner-up at the time of writing sits at 5,700 views — followed by a sharp drop to under 500 views for the third-biggest video. There's no question about Amouranth's ability to draw in spectators, but some have argued that Twitch just made another category for the divisive streamer to conquer.
Kaitlyn "Amouranth" Siragusa has essentially stayed at the top of streamer news this year, bringing in over $1 million a month and dominating Twitch's "Just Chatting" and "ASMR" categories. Twitch even made a new category earlier this year, "Pools, Hot Tubs, and Beaches," essentially as a means of accommodating for the popular "hot tub meta" Amouranth's participated in — and she's conquered that as well. That said, Amouranth has run into some trouble with the platform before, being banned and reinstated some five times to date. Amouranth's latest ban seemed like it would be her "final strike," but the suspension only lasted only three days, and no clear reason could be discerned for her removal.
Now, following that so-called "final strike," Amouranth has taken over another Twitch category, but how have others in the streaming community reacted to her latest success?
Anouranth Takes Animals, Aquariums, and Zoos
The "Animals, Aquariums, and Zoos" category caters to those who want to watch pets or wildlife in any number of environments. Whether this takes the form of a fixed camera set to capture someone's elaborate in-home aquarium or a new litter of kittens learning to walk, the center of attention is animals. In Amouranth's case, she's been streaming from a stable and tending to a horse, but some people have expressed their surprise at the fact that this was enough to secure the top spot in the new category.
For instance, when Twitch streamer Esfand pulled up the "Animals, Aquariums, and Zoos" page, he immediately started laughing upon seeing Amouranth's name attached to the clip with the most views. He joked, "Did they really make a new category for Amouranth, too? Are you serious?... They really made Amouranth a new category again... First hot tubs and now this!" His comments were made with some levity, but undoubtedly, many streamers already know this will be another category they'll most likely have to relinquish to Amouranth.
Of course, as noted by Dexerto, Amouranth has streamed from the stable intermittently over the last year, even before the category existed. So the new addition seems a perfect fit for an ultra-popular personality who already broadcasts from a stable, regardless of whether or not her latest success makes sense to all viewers.
