How To Customize Your Character In Pokemon Brilliant Diamond And Shining Pearl
The highly anticipated monster-catching remakes, "Pokemon Brilliant Diamond" and "Shining Pearl," have finally been released for everyone to play. The games have received relatively positive reviews from critics, although a few outlets have criticized it for missing some quality of life features present in "Pokemon Platinum."
That said, "Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl" do differ from the original games in some exciting ways, including the ability to change your character's clothes. In the original games, the male and female player characters had set outfits that could not be changed. While the default appearance of these characters can't be tweaked, players now have the option of picking out some new clothes for their adventures.
Unlike in some previous "Pokemon" titles, players can only purchase clothes in a single location, instead of having multiple stores throughout the game. Players will have to make do with their starting outfit for the first portion of the game, before eventually unlocking the option to buy new threads. Here's where and how to buy new clothes and customize your character's style in "Pokemon Brilliant Diamond" and "Shining Pearl."
Where to buy clothes in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl
Players can buy new clothes in "Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl" once they get to the third Gym and Veilstone City. Once there, players can find the "Style Shop" located in the southwestern part of town. Folks who played the original "Diamond" and "Pearl" may recognize the spot where the "Style Shop" is located: The building stands in the spot that originally held the Veilstone Game Corner, which was removed from the game to avoid receiving an 18+ rating for gambling content.
The store sells a number of different styles, ranging in price. Shirts and pants cannot be mixed and matched; instead, players can pick a single full outfit to change into. Sadly, this is different from newer games like "Pokemon Sword" and "Shield," which allow players to mix and match different articles of clothing and accessories. While the new remakes might not have the customization options of those titles, but it does have more clothing options than the original "Pokemon Diamond and Pearl." Now players can rock whatever style they want for the couple dozen hours it takes to beat "Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl."
