35% Of Fans Said This GTA Main Character Was Their All-Time Favorite - SVG Poll

Rockstar's "Grand Theft Auto" series is well-loved and known for many things. Players love the series for its open-world sandbox, where they can run free and commit crimes, watching how the world reacts to them. Plenty of fans also love the story in the "Grand Theft Auto" series, including the many memorable characters that filled out the casts of each game. With "Grand Theft Auto 6" on the horizon and the first look at one of its main characters leaked online, SVG decided to survey fans on which main character from the series is their favorite.

While there are plenty of options to choose from, fans gravitated heavily to one option. The options given to fans were Franklin from "GTA 5," Trevor from "GTA 5," Niko from "GTA 4," Tommy from "GTA: Vice City," and CJ from "GTA: San Andreas." Here's which "Grand Theft Auto" main protagonist SVG fans voted their favorite from the series.

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas' protagonist reigns supreme

Fans ultimately voted that CJ from "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas" is their favorite character, with him receiving 35% of the 156 votes. CJ has always been a popular character, especially in the online modding community. If a game features modding support, and there's a protagonist that fans can alter, there's a good chance CJ will be there — even in game's where it doesn't make sense, like the CJ mod for "Stray."

Despite CJ's reign as the survey's most popular choice, the bowling-loving protagonist of "GTA 4," Niko Bellic, took second place, although still losing by 9%. The two "GTA 5" representative's may have split the vote between themselves, with Trevor snagging 22% of the vote and Franklin grabbing 8%, although that still wouldn't have been enough to win, even if they were combined. Fans didn't seem to have much love for Tommy from "GTA: Vice City," who only managed to grab 9% of the vote for himself.

While CJ reigns supreme now, he could be unseated when "Grand Theft Auto 6" eventually releases and players get to go hands-on with the featured new characters.
