Where To Get Focus Sash In Pokémon Scarlet And Violet

There's no shortage of things to do and Pokémon to catch in "Pokémon Scarlet" and "Pokémon Violet." There are plenty of brand new mechanics such as building sandwiches, auto battling, and new evolution methods. Of course, some returning favorites like raid battles, gym challenges, and classic items are present as well.

One returning item to be held by a Pokémon is the Focus Sash. First introduced back in the fourth generation of Pokémon titles, the Focus Sash's main purpose is to protect a Pokémon from being knocked out by a single hit (per Bulbapedia). The effect only works, however, if the wielder of the Focus Sash is at full health before being struck by a colossally powerful move.

The Focus Sash can be useful when going up against adversaries with one-hit moves such as Fissure, Guillotine, and Sheer Cold, or during a challenging 7-star tera raid. Regardless of where players use it, the first step is to acquire a Focus Sash in one of two ways.

Purchase in Mesagoza or defeat 4 trainers in Area 2

In "Pokémon Scarlet" and "Pokémon Violet," the Focus Sash is only good for single use. Once it has saved one's Pokémon from untimely fainting, the Focus Sash is destroyed, and players will have to acquire another one. Luckily, there is an infinite supply.

Go to one of the largest cities of the Paldea region, namely Mesagoza, Levincia, and Cascarrafa. In each city, there are Delibird Presents Shops that sell a variety of battle items for Pokémon. While the offerings within each city differ from one another, all of the Delibird Presents Shops within a specific city have identical stock.

For the Focus Sash, players will want to venture to any of the Delibird Presents Shops in Mesagoza. However, the Focus Sash will only appear in these stores after players have successfully acquired four Gym Badges. These badges can be earned in any order, of course, and once they're in the player's possession, Focus Sashes will be available for 50,000 PokéDollars. They're certainly not the cheapest item in the game!

If players are looking to nab a freebie, however, there is one way to go. Defeating four NPC trainers in Area Two of the Paldea region's West Province will allow players to receive a free Focus Sash after speaking with the suit-wearing Battle League Rep that stands near the Pokémon Center of this region — specifically, the Pokémon Center that players will encounter following the main road into Port Marinada.
