Pokémon Violet And Scarlet Fan Theory Claims A New Legendary Is The Biggest Yet

"Pokémon Scarlet" and "Violet" marked the beginning of a new era for the series, despite launching as a hilariously glitchy mess. In these ninth-generation titles, players are free to explore the dense world of Paldea to battle and catch over a hundred new Pokémon. Of course, the game's massive Pokédex didn't stop many hardcore fans from catching them all. Completionists will soon need to boot up the game once again, however, as the world of "Pokémon Scarlet" and "Violet" is about to expand in a big way. And we don't just mean in terms of the map or the Pokédex itself.

The Pokémon Company recently announced full DLC is coming to "Scarlet" and "Violet," titled "The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero." The DLC will be released in two parts, with players embarking out of the Paldea region to begin all-new journeys. Two newly announced Legendary Pokémon, Ogerpon and Terapagos, are expected to play a significant role in the DLC story, keen-eyed gamers may already know how one of these Legendary Pokémon plays into the story — and it might be the series' biggest theory yet.

Terapagos appears to be massive

"Pokémon" fans on social media theorized that Terapagos could end up being the biggest Pokémon in the series. This turtle-like creature is incredibly unique, with its three tails and a reflective shell covered in elemental symbols. When looking at the Pokémon, one user noticed that the Paldea region itself is shaped strangely like the new legendary.

As a result, many started theorizing that the Pokémon is based on the myth of the World Turtle, which is said to support the world's weight on its back. Some theorized that the Pokémon could function as an entire region to explore on its own, while others had different ideas. Users on social media quickly looked for evidence for this theory anywhere they could, with one fan noting that a drawing seen in "Scarlet" book shows the turtle on top of the world, possibly hinting at Terapagos' massive size:

Some theorized that each elemental type on its back could represent a gym players must fight through in the new zone. Another fan theorized that the Pokémon is not a new region, but rather the source of Tera Crystals, and that Paldea resembles this Pokémon because Terapagos created the island in its image. Unfortunately, gamers will have to wait until the second DLC releases sometime in the Winter to get the answers they desperately want.
