Cyberpunk 2077 Player Discovers Possible Edgerunners DLC Hints

Despite "Cyberpunk 2077" initially losing almost all of its playerbase within a month, developer CD Projekt has not given up on the ambitious title. CD Projekt is hard at work on a new DLC for "Cyberpunk 2077" titled "Phantom Liberty," which is expected to launch sometime in 2023. And hype for the DLC is at an all-time high, as the popular award-winning prequel anime: "Cyberpunk Edgerunners" got many gamers in the mood to return to Night City.

But gamers may want to rewatch "Edgerunners" to refresh themselves on its lore before diving into the DLC, as "Phantom Liberty" may be more connected to the anime than many initially thought. While scrolling through the "Cyberpunk 2077" Journal entries, one gamer noticed that one of the quest entries straight-up lists itself as a DLC quest. And interestingly, one of the main characters from the "Edgerunners" anime was brought up in the quest description — all along with mentions of a mysterious casino.

However, because April Fools is approaching, and there's no shortage of trolls on the internet, not everyone is convinced the journal entry is real. But those buying into it are going crazy with wild theories about what the DLC will offer.

Edgeunners character may have been found in secret journal entry

Under the Quest tab in the Journal menu, one Redditor showcased a quest titled "%DLC_MAIN% : CASINO WARFARE." This, of course, had gamers theorizing that this was an in-development DLC mission accidentally left in the game's code. Fans scrambled to find out what casino it was, with some hoping that it was the Crystal Palace, a new location for players to explore in the DLC. But what's even more interesting is what is listed under the quest title.

Two quest objectives are listed in the Journal entry: "call Falco when you are ready." and "Watch Ncorp's BD at your apartment." Upon reading this, fans immediately made the connection to the "Edgerunners" main character and member of David's crew, Falco. Falco had a brief cameo message in the base game, but this quest hints that his role in the DLC could be much more significant.

Not everyone is convinced that the video is real, though. Because the uploader admitted to using game-altering mods, it is possible that this Journal entry was the work of a modder. Still, any news about the much-anticipated "Phantom Liberty" is being eaten up by fans, even if its legitimacy is a point of contention.
