Fortnite: Chapter 2 Season 1 Open Water Challenges, Hidden 'O' Location

Fortnite: Chapter 2 is slightly changing the game with regard to the way challenges work. This time around, the hidden Battle Stars are gone, and in their place, we now have the hidden letters F-O-R-T-N-I-T-E.

Also, it appears we're getting the second week's mission already. We got the first on Tuesday (when Fortnite: Chapter 2 launched), and now today, on Thursday (the normal day for these kinds of things), we have another one called Open Water.

The Open Water mission challenges are pretty straightforward, though they will require you to have some knowledge of the new map. If you haven't yet memorized all of the new locations, don't worry: we've added r/FortniteBR's ever-helpful cheat sheet below the challenges so you have an easier time finding your way around.

Now, here are the challenges:

  • Land at Craggy Cliffs, Salty Springs, and Dirty Rocks
  • Eliminate opponents with a Sniper Rifle (2)
  • Hide inside Hideouts in different matches (3)
  • Be crouched within 20m of an opponent for 10 seconds
  • Search Chests at Craggy Cliffs or Misty Meadows (7)
  • Search Ammo Boxes in a single match (7)
  • Get an elimination from 50m or further
  • Survive Storm phases (10)
  • Deal damage within 10 seconds of leaving a Hideout (3)
  • Search for the hidden "O" found in the New World Loading Screen

Now, about that hidden "O" you need to locate. Over in the Craggy Cliffs region, there's a house with a rather large deck right on the beach. What you'll want to do is visit this house, enter via the deck in the back, stand on the checkered floor just indoors, and then start mining your way downward. This'll take to a small crawlspace under the house, where you'll find the hidden "O" waiting.

Keep in mind: you'll have to actually unlock the hidden "O" challenge before the letter appears. So if you're having trouble locating it, make sure you're actually on that step.

Here is that cheat sheet we promised:

FortNiteBR

Now, we think the next mission in Fortnite is going to show up on Thursday, Oct. 24, but that's assuming the game will go back to its regularly scheduled programming. If we get a surprise next week in the form of a new mission on some other day of the week, we'll definitely let you know.

Happy hunting!
