Pokimane Reveals Why She Really Left The Offline TV Mansion

Last week, Imane "Pokimane" Anys announced to her fans that she would be moving out of the house shared by the content creators of Offline TV. At the time, she assured fans that this wasn't due to any beef between her and the other Offline TV stars. According to Pokimane, she just felt like it was time for a change.

After living at the Offline TV house for three years, that made a good bit of sense. Everyone feels like they get stuck in a rut sometimes, and Pokimane is surely no different. However, she revealed over the weekend that there was a bit more to her moving plans than she originally revealed. According to Pokimane, there actually was a bit of drama that she previously did not want to get into. With some recent news that has come to light concerning one of the members of Offline TV, the streamer has decided to open up a bit more to her viewers and detail one of the major reasons why she left.

As explained by Pokimane in a recent livestream, tensions continued to rise between her and former Offline TV member, Frederico Michael "Fedmyster" Gaytan.  After a while, they reached a boiling point, which partially led to her decision to leave the Offline TV house. According to Pokimane, the reasons she previously gave viewers are still true, but she does admit that her issues with Fedmyster also played a big role in things.

For those unaware, Fedmyster was recently asked to leave the Offline TV house following allegations of sexual misconduct that have been leveled towards him by fellow Offline TV members Lily "LilyPichu" Ki and Yvonne "Yvonnie" Ng. It seems that these stories being told has led to Pokimane being more comfortable with speaking her truth.

As for Pokimane's own issues with Fedmyster, she says that he behaved in a very possessive manner towards her. On more than one occasion, she said, he told people that they were dating in order to get them to "back off." She felt controlled and manipulated at all times, which was a major contributing factor in her moving out of the OfflineTV house.

In addition, she explained that there were multiple violations of her trust from Fedmyster. "He would lie a lot," explained Pokimane. "I had a lot of trust issues with him over the years and we would fight a lot about things. If he was in the wrong, he would ignore my existence in the house. He would literally refuse to acknowledge me."

She continued to explain that the lies weren't only directed at her, but many were about her to other people. Pokimane said, "I became aware of the fact he would lie about me a lot and create narratives in his favour that would insinuate a lot of negative things about me. This drove everyone around me away, and it's baffling that I only just found this out."

In other words, things became too toxic and uncomfortable for her in the Offline TV environment. While she maintains that she did want a change of pace, these new revelations seem to paint a clearer picture of why she wanted to start over.

This is the latest in a series of big decisions made by Pokimane to better her career and personal life. A few months back, Pokimane announced her intention to stay with Twitch, renegotiating her contract and signing on for another six years. She explained that she felt she owed it to her fans to stay with a consistent platform, but she also said that she had been offered a "life-changing" amount of money to switch to Microsoft's Mixer platform. Considering Mixer's recent closure announcement, it seems that Pokimane indeed made the right choice to stay on at Twitch. Many of her fellow streamers, such as Ninja and Shroud, are trying to figure out what their next moves will be, now that Mixer has gone under.

In response to the ongoing situation involving Fedmyster, Offline TV released a statement on its official Twitter account. Accompanied by a retweet of Yvonnie's story involving Fedmyster, the statement read, "We strive to be a place where everyone can feel comfortable and safe. With that in mind, Fed has been removed from Offline TV. He will also no longer be living with us."

While the hardships experienced by Pokimane while she was living at the OfflineTV house were difficult and unfair, it's good to see that she is moving forward and making plans for her streaming future.
