Rockstar Officially Confirms How GTA 6 Players Switch Between Jason And Lucia
The release date of "Grand Theft Auto 6" is inching closer, and gamers couldn't possibly be more excited. After years of speculation, and just a couple of lightly informative trailers, "GTA" fans are desperate to finally learn some solid details about the new entry's gameplay — and Rockstar Games is, at long last, delivering.
Members of the "GTA 6" team at Rockstar recently shed some light on just how far the company is pushing verisimilitude in its latest game and the methodology they used to create the most realistic video game setting of all time. While mostly still playing coy about the gameplay in "GTA 6," the devs finally confirmed an in-game feature that fans have long suspected would be in the final product. Players will indeed be able to switch between Jason and Lucia, the game's two protagonists, at any time, and the transition system will be even more fluid than the one featured in "GTA 5."
Rockstar is a little late to its own party. A hacker called Cyberleek started releasing "GTA 6" info online days before the Rockstar devs confirmed the new feature. Of course, everyone's dying to learn more about "GTA 6," but what the devs had to say about Jason and Lucia has made us more excited than ever to finally play the game.
GTA 6 will have seamless character transitions
Jason and Lucia are the Bonnie and Clyde-esque duo at the heart of "GTA 6." Rockstar has revealed that Jason is an ex-military member and active drug runner and that Lucia is a fighter who's recently been released from prison. Beyond that we don't know much about the characters or what brings the two of them together, but we now know how the single-play gamer will let players switch between its dual protagonists.
Jason and Lucia are a package deal who work together on important jobs and missions. Players can choose to stick with just one character for a shopping expedition or chaotic drive through town, but when they are working together, players can instantly transition from controlling one character to another, allowing for a kind of seamless play that wasn't possible in "GTA 5" and shows just how much the "GTA" series has transformed and evolved.
Jason might start driving the pair to a job location, but then players can switch to Lucia's passenger seat perspective to scroll through in-game social media feeds. Alternately, players might have Lucia act as a getaway driver while switching over to Jason to instantly start shooting at enemy vehicles through the passenger side window. There are also plenty of non-criminal activities that Jason and Lucia can do together, like jet skiing along the beautiful Vice City beaches on a date. Their interactions, both in and out of stressful situations, will make Jason and Lucia feel like the most developed characters Rockstar has ever created.
