Bud Light Unveils Its Own Next-Gen Console

Gamers have grown accustomed to watching three major companies battle it out during the console wars race: Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo.

At the moment, the consoles that are dominating gamers' living rooms are the PlayStation 5, the Xbox Series X and Series S, and Nintendo Switch. But in a surprising move made by brewing company Anheuser-Busch, Bud Light has now thrown its hat into the console war ring. A new video has been released via the beer brand's official YouTube channel that unveils the very first look at the BL6.

PCMag offered an official hardware breakdown of the console, which is basically configured as a Windows 10 PC. The BL6 comes outfitted with an Intel i7-1065G7 CPU, 16GB of RAM, and a built-in Asus Zenbeam 720p projector. The console utilizes Intel graphics and the PC itself is said to essentially be a Microsoft Surface Pro or something quite similar.

One of the cooler aspects of the BL6 is its design. The console is built to look like your regular everyday six-pack of beer. Six cans come with the system and fulfill their own uses: the front two cans operate as cooling fans, the middle two can hold the BL6-branded N30 Pro+ gamepads, and the two in the back are actual drink cooler compartments. Six built-in games come with the system, which includes Tekken 7, Soulcalibur 6, and R.B.I. Baseball 20.

If you're hoping to grab a BL6 for yourself, then you'll need to pony up a hefty sum to do so. There's only one available and you'll need to put in a bid in order to become eligible to obtain it. Several bids have been put in thus far on ShopBeerGear.com and the current bidding price has already reached into the thousands. All proceeds from the BL6's sale will go to the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation supporting their "Change is on the Menu" program.

Bud Light isn't the only food/beverage brand that recently hopped into the realm of gaming. Burger King partnered up with Sony to run a sweepstakes to give away PS5 consoles, game codes, and food coupons. The fast food giant even posted up a video on its Twitter that teased the console's boot up audio. KFC shocked the world and revealed a console of their own in the form of the KFConsole. As for Microsoft, it went all in on the Xbox Series X fridge meme and created a giant-sized replica of their latest console. Speaking of the Xbox Series X, Taco Bell ran a sweepstakes for those hoping to get their hands on one.
