Hi-Rez Studios, the developer behind free-to-play games like Rogue Company, Paladins, and Smite, is gearing up to release a ton of new content in 2021. The dev team opened up the showcase by discussing what was coming for Paladins. Fans of the game can look forward to the massive Season 4: Calamity update which will include new champions, limited time events, event passes, and more to come. One of these new champions includes Yagorath, a character that has been teased for years in the game's lore. Paladins has been around since 2016 and has steadily received new content over the years. But this year, Hi-Rez Studios made it a point that they plan to release updates on a more frequent basis.

After wrapping up Paladins news, the team moved on to announce some exciting details regarding its latest IP, Rogue Company. In 2021, fans can expect four seasons of content, with each update promising new maps, events, and play features. Hi-Rez discussed that a new Rogue named Kestrel will make their debut this year, alongside a map called Hollows. This past year, Rogue Company reportedly accumulated quite the following, and gained even more attention for allowing Twitch streamer Dr. Disrespect to create his own map for the game. That particular map had a ton of small treats that Hi-Rez Studios and the Doc laid throughout the arena for fans to find.

Finally, the last game Hi-Rez made announcements for was its MOBA title, Smite. The team announced that it will release Season 8: Dawn of Babylon, featuring a new conquest map and a pantheon of ancient Babylonian gods that will be added to the game's character roster. Two of the four Gods that were announced include the ancient hero Gilgamesh, and the fearsome Tiamat. Smite is well-known for its colorful cast of characters, with one of the game's previous content updates involving a crossover with Avatar the Last Airbender. Skins based on characters from the animated series like Aang, Zuko, and Korra were implemented in the game for players to customize their fighters.

With a slew of updates coming for Paladins, Rogue Company, and Smite, fans of these titles will be well-fed this year. While there is still plenty of room for new announcements to be made for these IPs, Hi-Rez is sure to keep players in the loop about what's in development and when they can expect some of the content teased in the virtual showcase.
