We might know what the next Fortnite skin will be

Epic Games has just released the latest update for its massively popular battle royale title, Fortnite. The current hunter-themed season continues to provide players with a whole slew of content, the most important being a possible new skin. Dataminers have gone through the new patch and discovered that this new costume will more than likely be based on the titular Predator from the Predator film franchise.

Lucas7Yoshi, a leaker in the Fortnite community, found a banner icon that clearly resembles the Predator while digging through the latest update. In addition to this, a space pod seemingly belonging to the Predator has crashed on the map near the Stealthy Stronghold. Despite these obvious clues, the actual Predator skin has yet to be leaked or discovered.

The 15.20 update for Fortnite features a new battle pass that hosts a series of challenges that revolve around the Predator. There are currently a total of three missions that players need to complete. These quests involve the players having to find the crashed spaceship and completing requests from NPCs who are near the crash site. Upon completing each task, the player will unlock a variety of Predator-themed cosmetic items.

These three challenges are reportedly just a taste of what's to come. A report from Forbes suggests that there may be more missions for players to take on before they can fully unlock the Predator skin. The skin is also projected to release in one to two weeks after the update. So for now, the only thing that players can do is just wait and see when Epic Games will either make an announcement revealing the new Predator skin, or add more missions to the battle pass.

Fortnite is well known for its bizarre crossovers, ranging from real life streamers like Ninja to franchises like Star Wars. Just last year, the game did a massive collaboration with Marvel Comics. This crossover was a part of Fortnite: Chapter 2 - Season 4, which featured heroes and villains from the Marvel universe. Skins based on Iron Man, Captain America, Daredevil, Wolverine, and a variety of other characters from Marvel could be unlocked by players in the item shop, or by participating in competitions.

The latest Predator-themed update is sure to get fans excited for what's to come as more content relating to the patch gets released. While there's currently no way to know for sure how to unlock the Predator costume, players who hold the current battle pass should definitely start completing challenges now. Those are likely to pay off as this season of Fortnite continues.
