Why MultiVersus Fans Think Mark Hamill's Joker Is Being Added

There have been many portrayals of the Joker over the years, just as there have been many character appearances in "MultiVersus" that shocked fans too. Considering the inclusion of superheroes from DC Comics, like Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman, "MultiVersus" fans have wondered when they will get to play as more of DC's equally notable supervillains. Out of all of DC's extensive roster of villains, only the "Batman" villain Harley Quinn is included as a playable character in "MultiVersus." That said, there are already plans to add "Shazam" villain Black Adam later on. Of all the villains in the DC universe, though, no one is likely more iconic than the Joker.

The Joker would certainly make sense as a new "MultiVersus" character to pair alongside Harley Quinn and against Batman, but there's still the question of how the character would be portrayed. From the harmless prankster of Adam West's "Batman" to the ruthless murderer in "The Dark Knight," the Joker has been characterized in so many wildly different ways. However, According to a series of voice clips datamined from "MultiVersus" by Twitter user Laisul, it seems that the Joker could be closer to officially joining "MultiVersus" than many had assumed, and he'll apparently be voiced by none other than Mark Hamill.

Datamined audio reveals a Joker announcer pack and abilities

Aside from playing Luke Skywalker in the "Star Wars" series, Mark Hamill has made a name for himself in voice acting over the past few decades, specifically for voicing the Joker in "Batman: The Animated Series" and for many other appearances of the Clown Prince of Crime. For years, fans have praised Hamill's distinctive, pitch-altering performance as the Joker. Because the datamined voice clips specifically confirm announcer lines, fans can look forward to hearing Hamill's renowned Joker even if they're not playing as the character. Whether this Joker will be designed after the version from "Batman: The Animated Series" or another incarnation is still unknown, but additional clips might reveal some of the villain's moves in "MultiVersus."

In addition to the announcer voice lines, LaisulMV alleges they also found ability voice lines for the Joker, with the caveat that they weren't sure if these lines were tied to moves or not. Hamill's lines include, "Take a sniff, Batman," and "You might feel a little woozy," possibly hinting at a perfume or laughing gas-based ability. Other voice lines refer to a rose sweet, a deck of cards, and even hint at chomping teeth traps – all moves well within the Joker's repertoire. So even if the Joker doesn't make it in-game before the end of the season, it won't be the most disappointing news from Season 1 of "MultiVersus" — especially if fans know Mark Hamill will be reprising his legendary role.
