Resident Evil 2 Demo Is Hiding A Creepy Teaser

While we already know that Resident Evil 3 Remake is on the horizon, revisiting the demo for Resident Evil 2 Remake is also apparently worth your time. Capcom has removed the 30-minute time on the Resident Evil R.P.D. demo, allowing players to discover that there is something from Resident Evil 3 lurking in the bowels of the Raccoon City Police Department.

With plenty of time to wander now, players have discovered that Capcom has connected Resident Evil 2 with Resident Evil 3 already. YouTuber Sugu Misato was picking off some zombies near the front gates of the police station when they heard it in the darkness: an inhuman voice growling, "S.T.A.R.S." If you're well-versed in your Resident Evil lore, then you know that this chilling sound belongs to none other than Nemesis, the specially designed Tyrant meant to take out each and every S.T.A.R.S. member.

Nemesis is the foe used by the evil Umbrella Corp. to cover up its involvement with the infection overrunning the city. Fortunately, Leon — and by extension, Claire — don't have to worry about this big ugly brute coming after them in RE2. In Resident Evil 3, S.T.A.R.S. member Jill Valentine is chased around by Nemesis just days before Leon Kennedy arrives for his first day on the job at the police station.

Nemesis, first glimpsed in the Resident Evil 3 Remake reveal trailer, will be the main antagonist in the upcoming title. He's uglier than Mr. X and even more brutal, and the folks at Umbrella were pretty generous with the number of teeth this monster was given. On top of that, his face is loosely held together by a few crude stitches. We're actually pretty glad we can't see Nemesis in the Resident Evil 2 demo. He's terrifying.

This isn't the first update Resident Evil 2 Remake has received in light of the newly announced RE3 Remake. PC players have noticed an interesting new Steam achievement called, "Chasing Jill." You know who chases Jill Valentine? Nemesis. We're not sure what the achievement means just yet, but we're dying to find out.

If you want an early taste of Nemesis ahead of Resident Evil 3 Remake's release, give the newly updated R.P.D. demo a try.
