Tragic Details About Emiru
Fans have been spending time with Emiru for over a decade, and they've gotten to know her pretty well. Emiru broke into the streaming industry as a "League of Legends" gamer and cosplayer, and she used her gaming skills and personality to find an audience and build a following. We spoke with Emiru in 2021, shortly after she joined esports organization Cloud9, and since then her career has only continued to grow. She moved to the One True King content house in 2021, and in 2023 Emiru became an OTK co-owner.
From "LoL" games to IRL streams, Emiru has consistently brought her all to every endeavor, and her hard work has paid off. Unfortunately, her story hasn't been one unbroken ride to the top. Though some of her fans might not know it, Emiru has been on a bumpy road to streaming success, and sometimes her biggest career moves have been the result of personal tragedy.
A stalker forced Emiru to leave Kansas
In late 2021 Emiru's fans were excited to watch a major change in her life. She was moving from her house in Kansas to Mizkif's One True King organization content house in Austin, Texas. OTK fans couldn't wait to see some of their favorite streamers spending more time together, but at the time, they had no idea that Emiru was making the move under tragic circumstances.
While giving an update on the potential move, Emiru told her fans on stream, "Currently my house in Kansas is, like, I can't stay there. I have to move anyway because stuff's been happening there." What Emiru didn't want to explain at the time was that an obsessive fan had started stalking her. The stalker convinced her to move away from Kansas and take a chance on the OTK house.
Years later, Emiru gave her fans a surprising update. "The guy who was stalking me ... has been institutionalized," Emiru told her stream. She explained that while he wasn't in prison and wouldn't be held permanently, the news still came as a massive relief for her.
Emiru's OTK move-in was plagued with drama
Emiru's move into the OTK content house didn't happen under the best of circumstances, but thanks to some unlucky timing, the move also caused a wave of streamer drama that Emiru didn't intend. Mizkif, the house's owner, was one of the most popular streamers on Twitch at the time, and in 2021 he devastated fans by announcing a breakup with his longtime girlfriend Maya. Mizkif and Maya were both streamers with dedicated followings, and fans had become deeply invested in their relationship.
Just a few months after the breakup, Emiru moved into the house, and the internet content mill started churning. Because Emiru and Mizkif were friends and started living together around the time of the breakup, some fans immediately assumed that they were in a relationship together. On a livestream Maya said that she felt as though Mizkif had replaced her, and fans rushed to defend her by attacking Emiru.
Other streamers like QTCinderella and Ludwig started commenting on the relationship drama and the way that fans were behaving. Eventually, Maya was able to clarify that she only wanted good things for Emiru, and once fans realized that Mizkif hadn't dumped Maya for a new relationship, the drama slowly faded away. Unfortunately, the entire episode made one of the most stressful times in Emiru's life even harder.
Stress forced her away from streaming
Streaming might not be as physically taxing as other jobs, but it is time intensive. To make it on Twitch, streamers need to be in front of their computer for most of their waking hours. Any vacation is a risk because taking even a day off can cost a streamer huge chunks of viewers. That's why fans were shocked when Emiru suddenly stopped streaming in early 2022. The break came shortly after her move to the OTK content house in Texas, and initially, Emiru didn't tell her fans why she was stepping away from the camera.
Emiru broke her silence on the Twitch hiatus in May 2022 and opened up to her fans about just how stressful her life had become. "There was some sh*t going on that was like really bad, like law enforcement involved bad, but the thing is like, streamers deal with sh*t like that all the time, right? And then they still just like keep going and keep streaming, but it's like, I just couldn't man." Emiru referenced the stalker situation that caused her to move to Texas, and said that she had been struggling since October 2021. Despite trying to keep her energy and spirits up, Emiru needed to take a break to recuperate from everything that had happened.
Emiru was nearly attacked during an IRL stream
Emiru has never really been a fan of doing IRL streams. She was once part of an OTK IRL stream on her birthday, but Emiru later confessed she was scared the whole time. "I was, like, freaking out," Emiru told her fans on stream. "We did have a bodyguard, but it was still stressful ... It's like an irrational fear, like PTSD or whatever, I guess." After dealing with so many stalkers, it makes sense that Emiru would feel a little uncomfortable filming content in public. Despite her fears, Emiru went out for an IRL livestream with Cinna and Valkyrae in March 2025, and that stream tragically gave her another real reason to be afraid.
The three streamers were out at Pacific Park in Santa Monica wrapping a marathon stream promoting women in the industry. As they were walking near the beach, a man started following and asking for Emiru's phone number. Cinna, Valkyrae, and Emiru tried to walk away, but the man followed them and at one point started yelling. He threatened to kill Emiru, and all three streamers ran away and found the police. The man wasn't found, and the entire incident is a sad reminder that IRL streams can be genuinely dangerous.
A stalker followed Emiru to Austin
Emiru moved from Kansas all the way to Texas partly to escape a stalker. After that, she should have been able to relax in her own home, but that wasn't the last time Emiru had to deal with a stalker. The OTK content house isn't hard to find for someone who's really dedicated, and in early 2025 an obsessive fan of Emiru's showed up at her front door.
Not long after Emiru, Cinna, and Valkyrae were almost attacked during an IRL stream, some of their friends started talking about the serious problems facing female streamers. OTK member Mizkif was one of the people talking about the unique dangers women face in the streaming industry. He admitted that he'd called the police about stalkers showing up to the OTK house looking for Emiru, but he'd been disappointed by their response. According to Mizkif, the police couldn't do much unless someone actually tried to break into the house or hurt an OTK member.
That caused Mizkif to take matters into his own hands. "I don't talk about this s*** but I pulled a gun on a viewer because he showed up to my house and he was banging on my door, asking for [Emiru]," Mizkif explained on stream. "If he stepped in my house, I would have shot him, I would have killed him." It's heartbreaking that Emiru has to deal with stalkers on a regular basis, but with any luck, she'll never have to face a home invader.
Emiru's shocking allegations about Mizkif
Emiru has plenty of friends in the streaming industry, and for years one of her closest connections was Mizkif. Emiru moved into Mizkif's house and later joined his content organization OTK. The two of them were such close friends that some fans believed they were dating. In a shocking October 2025 stream, Emiru revealed that her relationship with Mizkif is nothing like fans imagined, and she made some truly shocking allegations against her fellow content creator.
In her stream, Emiru accused Mizkif of sexually assaulting her while she was emotionally distressed at home. According to Emiru, Mizkif hugged her while she was crying, then proceeded to put his hands down his pants until Emiru's protests caused him to leave. Emiru claimed that Mizkif had been screaming at her and emotionally abusing her, and she said that he threatened to ruin her reputation if she ever said anything about his behavior publicly. In that same stream, Emiru revealed that she'd filed restraining orders against Mizkif.
Mizkif has vehemently denied Emiru's claims. In a March 2026 stream, Mizkif said that Emiru had defamed him and ruined his reputation. He also said that he thought Emiru's accusations were worthy of legal consequences and possible jail time. As of May 2026, Emiru and Mizkif were still involved in legal action against each other, and courts had yet to decide in either streamer's favor.
The internet spread a false grooming rumor about her
In April 2025 Emiru became the target of a truly disturbing online hate campaign. The outrage spiraled out of a statement made by a Twitch streamer called Bonbibonkers. In a minute-and-a-half long clip from her stream, Bonbibonkers talked about an uncomfortable situation she found herself in with a 23 year old streamer when she was only 17. The internet does what it does best and quickly transformed the clip into an elaborate rumor about Emiru grooming Bonbibonkers when she was still a minor.
Grooming and inappropriate conversations with minors are sadly all too common in the streaming industry, but in this instance, Emiru didn't do anything wrong. Bonbibonkers herself clarified the situation, writing, "The person I was referring to in those clips is not Emiru, and I never said it was," as part of a since-deleted post on X (via Sportskeeda). Emiru also addressed the situation on her own stream, expressing sympathy for Bonbibonkers' heartbreaking situation while also asserting that Emiru herself wasn't the 23 year old streamer in the story.
Emiru got assaulted at TwitchCon 2025
Throughout her streaming career, Emiru has had to deal with an outsized share of stalkers and belligerent fans. Every streamer regrettably has to deal with some amount of discomfort from their preferred platform's viewer chat channel, but Emiru's worst viewers have always come after her in real life. Stalkers have followed her from Kansas to Texas, and, in 2025, another ill-tempered obsessive all but guaranteed that Emiru will never attend another TwitchCon.
At the event, one attendee managed to push through the crowd, approach Emiru, and attempt to forcibly kiss her. Fans were shocked, especially when video of the incident made its way online. Emiru went to social media to share her experience, and in a statement posted to X, she heavily criticized Twitch, the company hosting the event. "I'm obviously shaken up by what happened ... but to tell you honestly, I am a lot more hurt and upset by how Twitch handled it during and after the fact," Emiru wrote.
According to the streamer, while her own security guards reacted to the man, Twitch's security staff didn't. Emiru accused Twitch of lying in its initial statement about the event and said that the man who assaulted her was never caught and was allowed to walk free. Twitch CEO Dan Clancy later apologized for the incident and said there was miscommunication about what had occurred. Fans reached out to support their favorite streamer, and the entire streaming community was heartbroken to see an incident like this happen at a convention meant to celebrate all the work that streamers do.
