Godzilla Is Officially Coming To Fall Guys

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is giving fans a fun crossover to celebrate the birthday of an icon: starting on Nov. 3 for a limited time only, you'll be able to obtain an official Godzilla skin in the game for 10 Crowns.

Indie developer Mediatonic announced the skin over Twitter, and a press release went out on Oct. 27 with additional details. Apparently, the skin will feature the Japanese monster's trademark features, including three rows of dorsal fins. "The character has been designed to fit right into the Fall Guys world, including different colors depending on what the game calls for," the release noted (via Games Press).

Nov. 3, 2020 is Godzilla Day and Godzilla's 66th birthday: he was first introduced to Japanese audiences in an original kaiju movie from Toho Company, Ltd. in 1954. The date also coincides with the Godzilla Festival, which attracted 20,000 visitors last year and is virtual in 2020. Toho is teaming up with Mediatonic for this crossover skin.

"There are many parallels to be drawn between the mighty Godzilla and an average Fall Guy; they are both fiercely competitive, they battle on an international stage with incredibly high stakes, they always get back up after being knocked down, and according to worrying reports from our social media channels, they are both much taller than you'd expect," said Jeff Tanton, Mediatonic's VP of creative.

Fall Guys has already added a number of skins appealing to gamers, including the Gordon Freeman Headcrab costume, a Scout from Team Fortress 2, and Sonic the Hedgehog. Additionally, gaming personality Ninja, along with G2 Esports, Aim Lab, and MrBeast — will get their own skins after donating a combined $1 million in a charity contest.

Interestingly, a Chilean artist who goes by B-side ilustrador (@Bilustrador) on Twitter put together two of their loves — Godzilla and Fall Guys — and created Godzilla skin fan art for Fall Guys characters just for fun a few months ago. While their concept versions look a bit different, the Godzilla isn't too far off. Clearly, fans have been imagining all kinds of crossovers for some time. Maybe King Kong, the other star of 2021's Godzilla film Godzilla vs. Kong, won't be too far behind?

Fall Guys recently kicked off its second season on Oct. 8, introducing a Middle Ages theme, new customization options, new levels, and fresh costumes. That means you can currently dress your jelly beans in medieval outfits inspired by knights, witches, and castles.
