Bright Memory: Infinite - What We Know So Far
With the Xbox Series X and Series S close at hand, gamers are ready for some next-gen action. When it comes to exclusives, the upcoming Xbox launch lineup is looking to be less exciting than Sony's. One game, at least – Bright Memory – shows promise on the Xbox side of things.
If you've been excited to experience this game on the Series X, you'll be happy to know an expansion/sequel is already in the works that, according to Windows Central, "promises to push the boundaries of next-gen consoles when it launches." It's called Bright Memory: Infinite. While the first game is a little short on content (it is, after all, the work of a single developer), Bright Memory: Infinite will be a major expansion, complete with enhanced visuals and ray tracing integration.
When exactly will this new title arrive? What does it look like? What is the story about? Here's everything we currently know about Bright Memory: Infinite.
What is the release date for Bright Memory: Infinite?
Those looking forward to Bright Memory: Infinite don't have too terribly long to wait. Even though the first Bright Memory will launch on Xbox Series X and Series S in November 2020, Bright Memory: Infinite has a tentative launch window of 2021.
When in 2021? Those specifics haven't been detailed just yet. It could be in the early months of the year, for example. It's also possible Bright Memory: Infinite could end up releasing sometime toward the end of the year. Regardless of when this title drops, fans who get to play the first Bright Memory when it drops will likely be waiting with baited breath for its follow-up.
Is there a trailer for Bright Memory: Infinite?
The trailer for Bright Memory: Infinite is here, and it shows off impressive gameplay. It begins with Shelia emerging from the water, then pouncing on someone who appears to be a soldier of some sort. From there, it demonstrates fast-paced FPS gameplay along with some powerful moves and attacks. She summons a car that — quite frankly — is reminiscent of the DeLorean from Back to the Future, which is cool enough on its own, but then she hops into the sleek vehicle. From there, an intense driving sequence takes place, hinting that there will be some driving involved in the game.
From this trailer, it looks like your character will have a robust set of moves and abilities. It also gives viewers a preview of the game's stunning graphics. It's an exciting trailer that could very well have fans chomping at the bit. When can you get your hands on Bright Memory: Infinite?
What is the story about in Bright Memory: Infinite?
The first Bright Memory takes place in 2020 and focuses on Shelia, a member of a special ops team called the SRO (Supernatural Science Research Organization). Her team tries to prevent a network of terrorists known as the "SAI" from obtaining the "Soul of Jiu Xuan," which can essentially conjure an army of zombies. In the game, Shelia accidentally transports herself and everyone around her to the mysterious "Floating Island," where she faces off against an army of undead.
Bright Memory: Infinite is set 16 years later in a world described as a "sprawling, futuristic metropolis." The specifics for this installment are fairly slim from there. An unexplained phenomenon has scientists baffled, but soon they realize these events are tied to two worlds and their histories. These hidden histories are promised to "come to light," teasing an exciting plot reveal in this follow-up title.
That's basically the long and short of it. Unfortunately, fans will have to wait — perhaps until the game launches — to learn more.
