We Finally Know The Launch Windows For These PS5 Games

The PS5 launch day library features a wide range of quality first-party exclusives. That group of exclusives includes the pre-installed platformer Astro's Playroom, a remake of Demon's Souls, Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Sackboy: A Big Adventure, and more. And come 2021, Sony Interactive Entertainment has a slew of other games slated for the next-gen console. Thanks to a newly released promotional trailer, fans now have a better idea of when those upcoming PS5 titles will release.

The trailer confirmed that Gran Turismo 7, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, and Returnal are set to launch sometime during the first half of 2021. As for the highly anticipated Horizon: Forbidden West, the video noted that its launch window falls into the second half of the year.

Developer Insomniac Games recently confirmed that Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will only release on PS5. As the titles takes full advantage of the PS5's ultra high speed SSD to eliminate load times altogether, that confirmation didn't come as much of a surprise. It will also use the DualSense controller's adaptive triggers to create resistance points when you fire off your weapon and other next-gen features that would not translate well to PlayStation 4.

Gran Turismo 7 will certainly be a graphical powerhouse for the PS5 and a must-have racing game for the new console. Returnal is an entirely brand new IP being developed by Housemarque (Resogun, Alienation, Nex Machina). Horizon: Forbidden West is a direct sequel to 2017's Horizon: Zero Dawn that takes Aloy on a journey to the western part of the U.S. during the 31st century. Out of those three next-gen titles, Horizon: Forbidden West is the only one slated to also launch on PS4.

Another PS5 exclusive that's been marked for a 2021 launch is Destruction AllStars. The vehicular combat game was originally planned as a PS5 launch title, but now it will arrive sometime in February and be accessible for PlayStation Plus subscribers during the first two months of its release.
