Valkyrae Becomes One Of The First To Do This

It's safe to say Valkyrae has had a pretty huge 2021 so far. She's been positively killing it over on YouTube, her streaming home as of last year. She had a role in a Corpse Husband and Machine Gun Kelly music video. She even got to play Among Us with Jimmy Fallon. That's already a list anyone would be proud of, but hey — it's only April. There's a lot of 2021 still left to go, and judging by Rae's latest move, there's plenty more in store for the streamer.

Yesterday afternoon, Valkyrae broke the news via Twitter that she had become "a co-owner of 100 Thieves." In her tweet, she looked back at the journey she'd taken with the organization, marveling at how she'd reached this point in just three short years. She added that she's "proud to be one of the first women co-owners in esports," which does make the occasion all the more momentous. In an official announcement video shared by 100 Thieves, Rae made another statement along this line, and said she feels she "could be a very good role model" not just for fans of the organization, but for women, as well.

Valkyrae wasn't alone in sharing this big news, by the way. Jack "CouRage" Dunlop also moved up in the world and obtained an ownership stake in 100 Thieves, making his announcement on the same day as Rae. In a tweet, CouRage talked about what he'd done to reach what is undoubtedly the height of his career; the moves he had to make in order to find himself a place in the world of gaming. Valkyrae and CouRage now join Nadeshot as members of 100 Thieves who also have skin in the game as owners. It'll be interesting to see if the group looks to upgrade other members into owners in the future, or if that circle is kept small.

In the meantime, though, it appears the sky is the limit for what Valkyrae can do in the future. As mentioned, she's already had the kind of 2021 most could only dream of, and her star seems to shine brighter and brighter as time goes on. What kind of move will Rae surprise fans with next? Where is the ceiling in terms of her popularity? All of that remains to be seen, but we'll be keeping a close eye out for more Valkyrae news. Judging by the first few months of this year, more is undoubtedly on the way.
