Corpse Husband Fans Are Loving His Nerdy New Single

Corpse Husband is a musician first and a streamer second, so it was only a matter of time until his next song. He just dropped his latest single, "MISA MISA!", which the internet quickly noticed references the popular anime, "Death Note." Corpse's voice is his main appeal, but his "nerdy" references definitely boost his popularity with fans.

"MISA MISA!" presumably references the "Death Note" character Misa Amane, who is known for her skimpy "mall goth" outfits and blonde hair styled with mini pigtails. The woman on the single's cover art sports the same hairstyle and wears clothing similar to the anime character.

"All the subtle nerd references makes this hit even harder. Corpse really can do it all," one commenter wrote. In addition to Misa, a few other anime and gaming references come up, like Lady Dimitrescu from "Resident Evil Village," and TinaKitten, the streamer. TinaKitten in particular should stand out to Corpse fans, considering she's friends with him in real life.

As usual, Corpse's latest song features his deep signature vocals. Fellow musician Scarlxrd and producer Kordhell, who fans recognized based on the track's signature beat, also play a part in its success. One fan even called the combination of Corpse's voice, Scarlxd's aggression, and Kordell's "phonk" a "godly combo."

This isn't the first time Corpse has used clever anime references to win over fans, though.

Corpse's references are nothing new

This actually isn't the first "Death Note" or anime reference Corpse has made in his music. In "E-GIRLS ARE RUINING MY LIFE!", he references "Death Note" in a couple of lines, along with Saitama from "One-Punch Man" and Gaara from "Naruto." It's part of why his music appeals to the "nerdier" crowd, or those who enjoy anime enough to get the references.

Another person commented on Corpse's viral opening lines, starting with his song "E-GIRLS ARE RUINING MY LIFE!." "After [E-GIRLS ARE RUINING MY LIFE!]...Everyone was like "Choke me like you hate me"...but now it's definitely "Look like Misa Misa, but she bite like Dimitresc'" they wrote. "Corpse has the best opening lines...I swear."

Corpse Husband actually hasn't been streaming much lately, enough so that Valkyrae needed to give fans a much-needed update on her friend. "I know you guys haven't seen or heard of Corpse for a long time, but we have been keeping up with each other and he is doing well. He is very, very, very busy," she told her viewers.

Maybe he was working on "MISA MISA!" Corpse also has a knack for surprising his fans, like with his TV reveal back in February, so he might have other praiseworthy projects on the way.
