FaZe Swagg Shocks Fans With Twitch Departure

Over the past few years, Twitch has seen an increase in content creators leaving the site in favor of other platforms, but there isn't just one thing to blame for this. Streamers have reported different reasons for their departure, such as a growing sentiment that Twitch doesn't care about its creatorsinconsistent policy enforcement, and receiving higher paying deals from other streaming sites. And now it seems that even FaZe Clan isn't immune to its creators leaving Twitch.

For the uninitiated, FaZe Clan is one of the world's biggest esports content creation organizations. Its YouTube account alone has over 8 million subscribers. Much of its popularity can be attributed to its large list of creators belonging to the group, such as Nickmercs, Banks, and even rap legend Snoop Dogg

Another popular FaZe Clan member is Swagg. FaZe Swagg is a "Call of Duty" content creator specializing in "Warzone" gameplay. Since beginning on Twitch, Swagg has amassed over 2 million followers, thanks to his impressive gameplay and unique personality. However, recently the streamer announced that he would be moving away from Twitch in favor of another platform — and this announcement shocked fans and fellow FaZe members alike.

FaZe Swagg is now on YouTube

On September 1, FaZe Swagg tweeted out "My Next Chapter," accompanied by a minute-long video. The video begins with Swagg asking, "If I could go back in time what would I tell myself?" Then Swagg gets transported to 2012, where he meets with a younger version of himself. The streamer gives his fictitious younger self some advice, such as "Ignore the haters" and "when you see a big opportunity, make sure you take it." After, it's revealed that the big opportunity in question was given to him by YouTube Gaming to stream exclusively on its site for the foreseeable future.

Swagg's fans were immediately shocked at the announcement of the unexpected move to YouTube. However, for the most part, his loyal fanbase was supportive, and his replies were riddled with comments of excitement for this new venture. His fellow FaZe members, such as Apex and Teeqo, also quickly congratulated him on the big move. Even though Swagg is moving away from Twitch, the streaming site dropped by to congratulate him on the move to YouTube.

To catch Swagg's latest streams, fans must remember to boot up YouTube instead of Twitch to catch some of the streamer's high-level "Warzone" antics.
