For one thing, many of his fans have questioned whether his voice is real or altered in some way. The truth, however, is that his voice is completely his own, and is not aided by any kind of editing or hardware. In fact, the intonation you hear is a result of one of the many tragic personal details that Corpse Husband has revealed to the public before. You may also be wondering, then, how his voice is so deep.

Corpse Husband's voice results from his conditions

The truth about Corpse Husband's voice was explained in an Instagram Q&A story. In his explanation, he revealed that his signature vocal tone has been the same since he was 12 years old. In his words, he sounds the way he does because of a "combination of genetics and also a health condition [he has] called GERD." He also shared that he often loses his voice as a result and has to have his nose and throat examined using invasive cameras.

According to Medical News Today, those with GERD, which stands for gastroesophageal reflux disease, may inadvertently breathe in their own stomach acid. This can result in a number of issues, including a hoarse voice.

Not only does Corpse suffer from GERD, but he also lives with several other conditions, including fibromyalgia and sleep apnea. While his unusual tone has played a role in his success, the underlying conditions have proven difficult, and have nearly caused him to end his streaming career. Fortunately, the perfect timing of Corpse Husband's success essentially saved his life, allowing him to pay for his medical expenses and fulfill other financial responsibilities.
