The Real Reason Pokimane Thinks xQc Is Streamer Of The Year

The 2022 Streamer Awards –hosted by Maya Higa and QTCinderella — has narrowed down the 27 categories of awards to the final four contestants, and people can go vote for who they think should win in each category. Pokimane, who has already said that she doesn't want fans to vote for her, shared her votes on-stream. Some of the categories were stacked, particularly Streamer of the Year, which included nominees were Ludwig, Mizkif, xQc, and Sykkuno. The past year was great for all four of the streamers, and Pokimane shared her reasoning behind her vote for xQc when she voted live on-stream.

Pokimane explained it by saying that xQc "is in a league of his own right now," making it hard to not vote for the streamer. She also said that no one can really compete with him because of his lengthy streams, which often test the limits of what a streamer should do. Pokimane pointed out that xQc has a much larger variety of content than the other contestants. He plays things like "Valorant," "GTA 5," "Elden Ring," and even "Mario Kart 8," according to his Twitch channel.

While Pokimane voted for xQc, she explained that she also wanted to vote for Mizkif because of the category's description being "This. Was. Their. Year." For Poki, both streamers had an excellent year in their own way. However, xQc's year was on its own level, one that Mizkif couldn't quite reach.

The insane year xQc had

The success that xQc has seen this year has been insane. When Twitch earnings were leaked last year, the data revealed that xQc is making literal millions of dollars from the site, meaning his success was quite literally put on display for fans to see. If that's not enough, it was clear that he's not exactly hurting for money when he shut down a $1.2 million deal to promote NFTs.

xQc's success was also seen in other ways. For example, fellow streamers like Valkyrae and Pokimane became more friendly with xQc. In the past, he's been seen as somewhat toxic and was banned in many places around the internet. He's also been sent to "streamer therapy" in the past after too many Twitch violations.

2021 might have been an ultra-successful year for the streamer, but it also proved to be a pretty trying one. Success has its own problems, and xQc had to move after someone came looking for him and broke into his home. He also received a lot of backlash after Pokimane wanted him to stop promoting gambling streams. However, he still ended the year on a higher note than he entered it, which might be enough to win him Streamer of the Year at the 2022 Streamer Awards.
