Zak Wojnar

• Zak is a Grand Theft Auto enthusiast. Way back when he was in the sixth grade, he snuck over to his friend Joe's house to play GTA3 and never looked back. In the years since, he played every entry in the series multiple times and put considerable time into both Red Dead Online and Grand Theft Auto Online. On principle, though, he never acquired an Oppressor Mk II.
• Over his career as a journalist, Zak has interviewed countless artists across film, television, and especially video games, speaking with the minds behind games like Days Gone, Control, Yooka-Yaylee, The Silver Case, Stage Tour, Box Knight, and many more.
• Zak cut his teeth as a Game Informer intern back in 2017, covering news, learning about the hustle of the daily news grind and the monthly magazine cycle. Back then, the intern office was right across from a storage room filled with Guitar Hero and Rock Band instruments, and his greatest regret is not staging an Ocean's 11-style heist to liberate those plastic peripherals for his own use.

Experience

Zak Wojnar is a New York City-based writer who started writing about gaming back in 2013 on his college pal's now-defunct website. Since then, he's been around the block and back, writing for anyone who would indulge his opinions, even his righteously indignant hot takes. He has bylines with multiple Static Media brands including SlashGear, Jalopnik, BGR, and SVG. He's written extensively about all sorts of pop culture, but video games will always be his cozy home for both work and play.

Education

Zak graduated from The College of Westchester with an associate's degree in digital media.
